Sorry for the rant, just thinking out loud with other SZ fans.I try and talk to my wife or 5 yr old, but that usually ends in frustration. OG Subnautica, the first time I found some of the rarer items it felt awesome and dangerous - In SZ it feels a bit more like a chore, I don't feel as rewarded when I have to google how to find things (I'm terribly dense when it comes to games sometimes and have to have things pointed out to me lol) Plant clippings come to mind.In biomes I haven't even seen yet. I feel like I need to bend this mechanic to my will, and in doing so completely rob myself of the fun of finding things naturally i.e. ![]() 2 diamond per playthru?) - I'm tempted to do that now with some plant clippings. I've been playing along assuming the scanner room is the same as the OG Subnautica - It sounds like some balancing is needed, the monkeys should surprise you with an item needed, but it shouldn't be easily repeatable (Or have a limit to how much it will give you? i.e. Lesson learned, those are SZ's reapers as far as im concerned. When I first encountered those cute little monkeys.I feared those monkeys more than any leviathans after it took my only scanner and I lost which one it was in a pack - I had no idea you could chase it down and get it back until it was long gone. ![]() I'm new to SZ (But 400+ hours on Subnautica) and i'm just finding out about this now in my 9hr playthru so far - Hell I missed the entire 1st step of getting to the sancutary place and went to the Delta island 1st.
